one of the worlds greatest displays of nonviolence: the Civil Rights

deaths due to acts of extreme violence, as a long-term solution to systemic
community violence. The Institute‚s main programs are: the Providence
Streetworker Program, the Nonviolence Training Program, the Beloved
Community Summer Jobs Program, and the Victims‚ Advocacy & Support Program.
The Streetworker Program sends outreach workers into the community to help
teenagers and residents prevent and deal with conflict in positive ways.
The Training Program teaches students and community members about the basic
principles and steps of nonviolence and gives them the skills and support
needed to solve conflicts without violence. The Summer Jobs Program
