A 9am hill-ride has already been announced for Saturday (see below), but
it looks to be pretty intense and the no-drop policy won't be in effect.
So, I propose a long BTH no-drop training ride at 10am as an alternative
for those of us of who still want to train but are, how shall I put it,
of somewhat more moderate fitness. :) I'm negotiable on departure
time/destination, so speak up if you have a suggested revision, and
otherwise see you then & there!

hey all,
I'm planning a 50-mile ride over a bunch of tough and nasty hills, mostly to
the north, this saturday morning. (Most of these hills are a bit lesser
known than the hills to the west) We'll depart at 9:00 from Faunce. If
someone knows a good route from there up to the Blackstone bike path, I'll
let you lead. otherwise we'll just head up 122 (I don't want to take the
western route up, so that we can avoid some hills in the first few miles.
trust me, there will be PLENTY later.) From the blackstone, we'll go up
Manville Hill, then West Wrenthem, Tower Hill (the longest hill in RI),
Mount St. Charles, Woonsocket HIll, Burlingame, Mountaindale and ending on
Whipple. total distance should be around 50-55 miles. The hills, however,
will make it feel more like 70 or so on flat terrain. Pace will be fairly
high (And Geoff is coming, so he's sure punish us all on the descents as
well.) But this won't be a no-drop ride. If you're concerned, email me and I
can send you the route. Let me know if you're planning on coming.
