Education Specialist
Part-time (20 hours/week) ongoing position at Hudson Museum, University
of Maine, beginning immediately. The Hudson Museum is an anthropology
museum with archaeological and ethnographic collections from around the
world. The Education Specialist is concerned with interpreting exhibits
and objects to the populations of both the University and surrounding
communities. The Education Specialist supervises volunteers and
employees involved in the educational program, prepares interpretive
materials, presents tours and programs, implements outreach activities,
including creating a periodic school newsletter, develops special
events, oversees compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act,
and creates some exhibits. Master s degree and museum education
experience required. Degree in Anthropology, Education or Museum
Studies and teaching and supervisory experience preferred. Must be
willing to have a flexible schedule to accommodate weekend and evening
programming and to meet tour obligations. Salary $12,500-13,100/year.
