The Providence Center, a JCAHO facility and a leader in behavioral
health services, has the following opportunities:
Non-degree Positions
Cook (90 Plain St.)
Full-time. Salary $20,287 - $28,402. Located in our residential
substance abuse treatment program at 90 Plain Street. Provide
nutritional, well-balanced meals with proper presentation for the
residents in a sanitized environment and meet the dietary needs of
the residents. Also cover for Food Services Manager during absences.
Experience with nutritional needs for recovering substance abusers a
plus. Assist Head Chef in managing inventory of food and household
supplies. RI license and Manager in Food Safety Certification
required. Must be able to work well with clients and maintain
discipline in the kitchen. Degree from two-year college or technical
school preferred. Two years experience in either institutional
cooking or retirement cooking. Knowledge of special diets. Must
have a valid driverís license and insured automobile.
Medical Office Assistant
Full-time, Salary $20,516 - $28,722, located at 530 N. Main St. Meet
with consumers to determine insurance coverage and collect
demographic data, as well as verify insurance coverage, amount of
outstanding deductible and obtain necessary pre-authorizations.
Greet visitors at the reception area, schedule appointments, respond
to telephone callers and take messages. High school diploma with a
business background and two years experience with third party
reimbursement; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess good typing skills as well as good spelling and grammar.
General computer experience is also required. Excellent
communication skills required.
Medical Office Assistant (part-time)
Salary $20,516 - $28,722, located at 90 Plain Street. This position
is 18.75 hours per week; Tuesday, 12pm - 5pm, Wednesday 12:15pm -
5pm, Thursday 12:15pm - 5pm, and Friday 12:15pm - 4:30pm. Summary of
duties are the same as above.
Residential Assistants (Long Term Care, Pascoag, RI & 90 Plain St., Prov.)
Part-time and relief staff for nights/weekends. Salary $20,287 -
$28,402. Relief staff hourly rate $8.75/hr. Both locations, Long
Term Care Facility in Pascoag, RI, and our 90 Plain Street facility
are seeking relief staff personnel. Our 90 Plain Street facility is
also seeking a Part-time person to work 20 hours per week, which is
flexible. Perform coordinate and monitor the daily non-clinical
operations of the program. Provide orientation of clients into the
community. Assist with the supervision of AA/NA meetings, and in new
client admissions. Perform a variety of services, assist with the
supervision of recreational activities. Monitor client whereabouts
during fire drills or emergencies. Ensure medication procedures are
followed. Transport clients when necessary. High School diploma or
general education degree (GED). Advanced education preferred.
Experience working with substance abuse population is strongly
preferred. Must have awareness of the general trends in confronting
the problems of substance abuse. Must have a valid drivers license
and insured auto.
Associate Level Positions
Residential Assistants - TAP Program
Part-time/weekend and relief staff positions located at our Lenox
Avenue group home in Providence. The days and hours are: Sat 7:30am
- 3:30pm & Sun 7:30am-3:30pm, or Sat 3:30pm - 10pm; or Sun
3:30pm-10pm; (please note that these positions are to cover two
different floors of the home) in the Specialized Adolescent
Services/Transitional Apartment Program. Salary from $21,276 to
$29,786. Under the direction of the Assistant Supervisor, Senior
Case Manager and/or Residential Case Manager, provide direct services
and support to adolescent consumers living in a transitional
apartment program. Provide supportive counseling, problem-solving,
behavioral interventions and limit setting. Associates degree
required. Experience in residential facilities with children and/or
adolescents also preferred. Must have driverís license and insurance
auto. Must possess CPI certification within 30 days.
Bachelor Level Positions
Case Manager - Adult Community Support Services
Salary range from $23,489 to $32,885. (2) positions on our Crisis
Team, and (1) position available for our Mobile Treatment Team.
Coordinate case management services within a multidisciplinary team
to support Adult individuals with psychiatric illness in overcoming
barriers to independent living. Must be able to work flexible hours.
Bachelorís degree in Human Services or related field required and
related experience preferred. Experience working with dual diagnosis
(mental health and substance abuse) a plus. Must have a valid
driverís license and insured automobile.
Psychiatric Nurse - Mobile Treatment Team (MTT)
Salary $36,642 - $51,299. (2)Full-time. This position also works
one weekend every 13 weeks and also works AM shift (7am - 3:30pm,
Mon-Fri) in a 2 week block in a 3-nurse rotation. Assess and provide
prescribed treatment for psychiatrically disabled individuals,
working as part of a team. Implement the consumer plan of care.
Administer medication as per doctor orders. Provide case management
support to assigned consumers. Knowledge and experience with
psychotropic medication, and ability to work well with professionals
from other disciplines in a team approach. Bachelorís degree in
Nursing preferred. Experience working with psychiatrically disabled
patients. Must have Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Valid driverís license and insured auto required.
Special Education Teacher - Primary grades
Full-time. Salary $31,000 - $54,684. Provide therapeutic
educational service at school, in homes, or at community sites.
Bachelor's degree in Special Education required. 3 years prior
special education or clinical experience. Experience with special
needs children preferred. RI Special Education certification
required, as well as Early Childhood and/or elementary and/or middle
school and/or secondary certification. Valid drivers license and
valid auto insurance.
Master's Level Positions
Clinical Psychologist -- TPC School
Full-time. Oversee the school's therapeutic programming, including
the initial assessment process, functional assessment of target
behaviors, student behavior plans, crisis management, clinical
services, and the coordination of programming with family outreach.
Doctoral degree preferred in psychology, social work, behavior
therapy, counseling, special education, or other relevant human
service profession. 5 years experience with children and adolescents
who have emotional and behavioral disabilities, preferably in a
school setting. 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity.
