What about the recently discussed <space> element?

Unfortunately, in P4 <space> cannot occur within <div> and I suspect from
your description that the blank lines are considered as interparagraph
elements.

It could be wrapped in <ab>.
(anonymous block) contains any arbitrary component-level unit of text,
acting as an anonymous container for phrase or inter level elements
analogous to, but without the semantic baggage of, a paragraph.

<ab><space extent="6_lines"/>
</ab>

<p>...</p>

</div>


Others may have thoughs as to whether this constitues tag abuse.
