Dear readers,

A short while ago, I received my copy of "Electronic Textual Editing",
recently published by the MLA.  On page 9, I read <quote>...two
substantial green volumes known as TEI P3 (P for public).</quote>.

Now, I learned in TEI Kindergarden many years ago that the P in P 1 to
5 is for "proposal".  I wonder what the catholic view is today and how
that evolved.
