Yep! I think this is an excellent idea - I have a bit of anxiety about
the racks myself - and have never used one.

Subject: [BIKE-TO-BROWN] bike rack demo?
During that cold and extremely windy week, two weeks ago?, I mentioned
to a number of people that it's nice to have the bus as a backup option.
If the wind or temperatures turn out to be too much, just hop on a bus
with your bike and grab a ride home. To my surprise, a large portion of
the people I spoke with expressed concern over doing this. The main
issue is having never used one of the bus bike racks and being concerned
about needlessly holding up the bus.
These conversations got me to thinking about whether or not RIPTA ever
did bus demos. It turns out they have a portable rack n' ride unit that
they would be willing to bring by Brown some day, if there is interest.
We could probably arrange a brown bag lunch and get a chance to play
with the RIPTA bike racks in a relaxed setting.
So, is there interest?
