We had many great years and even better memories with our Burley.
They are bomb proof. You can dump your bike and the kids stay upright
laughing at their foolish father's antics (I plead the 5th here).
Here are a couple of things to think about. Trailers are safer when
there is a rail protecting the rear wheels from hitting thinks outboard of
the wheel. Trailers are safer when the hitch has a swivel so the bike can go
down without putting torque on the trailer. Only think about trailers that
come with screens. The screens are to protect the kids from road debris, and
not bugs. Screens also keep stuff from being thrown out of the trailer (my
boys plead the fifth on thhis too).
Pockets inside are nice. Good harnesses are a must.
Good luck
Ted

Subject: [BIKE-TO-BROWN] Kid Trailer recommendations
Greetings,
I'm looking into a bike trailer for toting 2 kids (4 years old and 10
months) to daycare--a distance of 3 - 5 miles over quiet rural roads.
I've had no problem with my 4 year old on a bike seat, but I'd like a
solution that puts the kids more or less together. I'm thinking of a double
bike trailer, but I'm a bit wary of putting the kids down at bumper level.
Most of the riding will likely be in fair weather, but I can't rule out
rainy day riding, so some decent weather protection is worthwhile.
I'm sure the list has no shortage of opinions on the subject, both in terms
of safety and specific brand and model recommendations. I welcome your
feedback!
Thanks!
