The Vesta desktop TEI processor is finally
available again, after an extended gestation
period since the TEI Members Meeting last November.

Vesta provides a simple desktop app which
lets you run conversions on TEI files. Specifically,
it understands what to do with ODD files, and
can generate schemas and documentation; but more
generally it can process simple TEI XML files
and make HTML, LaTeX, FO and Word 2007 .docx output.
It does this using different profiles, which
can be added to locally.[1]

A MacOS version can be downloaded from
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=106328&package_id=298013
and Debian/Ubuntu users can pick up a "tei-vesta" package
by adding the right APT source to their local setup
(see http://tei.oucs.ox.ac.uk/teideb/)

If there is someone who can make nice Windows packages
for me, I'd welcome help; Vesta is a fairly simple Java application.

The source is all available on Sourceforge, of course.
It depends on my TEI XSL stylesheets (converted for XSLT 2.0).

[1] for the curious, it scans its stylesheets directory
called "profiles" for any XSL of the pattern "name"/"format"/to.xsl
(ie default/html/to.xsl, enrich/fo/to.xsl) and offers
the user a corresponding option.
