Dear Eleonora, Andreas and Serge,

Welcome to the SIG list, kindly set up for us by Syd Bauman, who will
also be watching over the list as co-administrator -- thanks, Syd!

I've just approved Serge's registration and quickly added Eleonora and
Andreas (apologies -- I should have done that at once).

I'm barely back from a trip to Strasbourg, trying to finish the SIG
preparations and my own TEI-MM stuff at the same time, uff... Things to
do absolutely now include:

* setting up the official TEI SIG page (via David Sewell, I will handle
that in a moment)

* applying some make-up to the sadly bare wiki space at
  http://wiki.tei-c.org/index.php/SIG:TEI_for_Linguists

(hmm, I think now I will just move the first page in its place, we don't
need two)

* the poster (sigh)

* *announcing* the SIG on TEI-L, we're actually behind with this :-/

* announcing our meeting to the two closest SIGs, Tools and Ontologies.

Things to do a tiny bit later:

* going over the programme for our SIG meeting, which is definitely hard
to finalize at this moment, given the nature of that first meeting, but
I'd definitely like to avoid silence there, so maybe we conveners could
have some spare slides there, e.g. on what infrastructures we imagine to
be at the members' disposal or on what we see as the priorities (surely
a matter for discussion).

* deciding whether our "Linguistic Lunch in Zadar" simply turns into the
SIG meeting on Saturday or whether we plan it as a separate event, for
one of the first days (Wednesday?) as a completely informal munching
meeting with some linguistic terminology optionally buzzing over our
grilled calamaris? Soliciting ideas for the SIG meeting (the question
is: wouldn't that be overkill?)

Best,

  Piotr
