yes, sounds like a good plan :-} just like I'll use MathML, SVG, 
URIs, etc etc, and be very grateful for them!

I think I am wanting to simply rearrange the way I view it, and treat
@rend as  more, and no less, than a short-hand comment for humans to read.
Which is a very valid thing to do.
