I watched "El Angel Exterminado" last night, and I can't see any connection
between the movie and the song. Actually, I find the mood closer to the
upper-crusty decadence of "2nd Floor" than the nihilism of (the song)
"Exterminating Angel." Still, it's a very funny, twisted movie - I doubt
Bunuel could have made a dull movie if he'd tried. When your first film
features an eyeball being sliced in half, you've gotta keep things
interesting.
My hypothesis is that Siouxsie finished the lyric and was wondering what to
call the song. When she came to the line about "swarms of angels" coming to
"kill your sons," the title of the movie probably popped into her head.

According to the Internet Movie Database, the original Mexican cut of the
film is 95 minutes long while the UK cut is 89 minutes. The copy I watched,
released by a company called Video Latino, clocked in just under 93
minutes, so I don't know exactly which cut I saw. The copy available at
Reel.Com is also 93 minutes. I found it kinda funny that Video Latino
released it - the other movies I've seen on that label have been Mexican
wrestling superhero movies starring Santo and the Blue Demon.
