Don't blame the technology. You might as well say "I hate oil paintings
- they are always so dingy and crackled" (or "bright and unnaturally
vibrant" or whatever). Have you ever seen the "King Cobra" site? It
actually EXPLOITS this "feature" by creating a site based around an
ACTUAL SIZE image of a 12' King Cobra. Needless to say there's not an
affordable anywhere that could handle this size page without "panning
and scanning" - but it's creatively done, and it works.
A SKILLED webmaster will create an attractive and navigable site using
whatever tools it takes - like an artist at a palette. An inexperienced,
unskilled webmaster (or just one with an agenda - like "I hate browserX
so I won't support it") will create universally bad sites. Too bad the
Creatures seem to have found the latter.
Ah well - it doesn't matter anyway; most "corporate" sites just suck no
matter how slick they look. I doubt any corporate site would ever have
more info than vamp, or a cooler layout (and content) than the old
bucknife site. Too bad Brian didn't have time to keep it up.
