Actually, I noticed that Xpublish 2.0, from Media Design in*Progress,
http://interaction.in-progress.com seems to have the SMIL DTD in it as
one of its DTDs. Xpublish bills itself as "professional XML publishing
system for efficient authoring, publishing and maintainance of
websites." It runs on Macs. It looks quite nice, haven't had a chance to
work with it yet.  It's not free, but has a 30 day eval. license. and
you can download it from their website.
