Dear Friends,
I am looking for suggestions about possible places to publish two small
notes/articles I've been working on. Both are TEI or SGML related.
The first is a technical note on a cheap and very easy way of building
a visual SGML to HTML conversion filter. It uses a widely available
piece of software in what I think is an unusual way, and allows us to
add javasHTML.
The second is a slightly longer piece on a method we are using for
encoding our critical apparatus in TEI. It allows us to use the same
apparatus with different base texts, and, using stylesheets, easily
restrict ourselves to different levels of detail or, to a certain
extent, different combinations of manuscripts. It is also
self-lemmatising.
I was thinking Computers and Humanities, especially for the second. I
haven't seen a technical note about usual uses of propriety software in
any recent issue, however (we don't get it in our library, and I only
had a couple of hours to browse last week in the nearest library that
does receive it).
Obviously whether or not the articles are publishable is for the
referees to decide. I'm looking for suggestions for journals to which
they can be sent. Thanks in advance.
