In connection with the formation of the new TEI Consortium, and
the attendant closing down of the TEI's offices in Chicago, this
list and others which have been hosted at the University of
Illinois at Chicago will move to Brown University in the next few
weeks.
All subscribers will be moved automatically; no action is needed on
your part except to adjust your email agent to the new address.
Details of the new addresses, etc., will be sent out as soon as
they have all been worked out, which should be within the next few
weeks.
Another move is taking place at the same time. After twelve years, I
left the University of Illinois at the end of August, and my wife and
I are packing the house to move to northern New Mexico. We had
planned to do this anyway, after retirment; we are just moving up the
date by a couple of decades.
The paperwork associated with my new employment is still being
processed, and I don't want to make any public statement about it
for fear of jinxing it. For now, I can only say that it promises to
be interesting and satisfying work, that I am continuing as editor of
the TEI, and that I plan to tell you all what my new job is, as soon
as the papers are all signed.
Email sent to [log in to unmask] will continue to reach me. Other
addresses which have worked in the past will continue to work for
a while, and then will stop working without warning. If you have
an entry for me in a nicknames or aliases file, now would be a good
time to update it.
