Members and non-members alike are welcome
to attend the first day of the meeting, which will include a rich
programme of technical briefings and presentations about the full
variety of TEI applications. The second day will be for members and
subscribers only, and will contain further technical briefings as well
as a business meeting. The chief business to be transacted at this
Annual General Meeting, aside from financial and editorial reports,
will be elections to the Board and to the TEI Council, and a
discussion of new work-items for the Council and its appointed
work-groups.
Registration
------------
Pre-registration is essential! All
participants need to preregistered for the TEI Annual Members Meeting
by sending an email to [log in to unmask] by September
12.
There is no registration
fee for existing TEI subscribers, or for persons representing existing
TEI member institutions, but anyone interested in the work of the TEI
is very welcome to attend. Non-members and non-subscribers will be
charged a $50 registration fee at the door, but this fee will give you
subscriber benefits up to the end of 2002 as well as admission to the
Member's Meeting.
Lodging
-------
We have made a block booking for
participants in the TEI Annual Members Meeting at the Claridge
Hotel (http://www.claridgehotel.com/). The hotel is about six
minutes from the Newberry Library, and the special rate available for
TEI members is $149 (single or double room occupancy) plus taxes. To
take advantage of this special price, you must send your reservation
directly by email to the hotel's Reservations Manager, Russell
McCarthy [log in to unmask] or phone the hotel at +1
800-245-1258. Remember to mention that you are asking for the TEI
Consortium group rate, and remember that your booking must be made
before September 12 to get this special rate.
Programme
---------
As at last year's meeting, the formal
business meeting will be preceded by a full day of invited
presentations, members reports, and technical updates from TEI
workgroups and editors.
