I've been working on SOW5 and have so far an extraordinarily messy draft, which, given that no one will have time to look at it before 10:30EST, I won't send at present. Suffice it to say that I think this will be pretty easy to write up and to provide additional TEI examples for, since TEI provides most of the required mechanisms and as a generic format (i.e., one that wisely does not give tags for linguistic elements), is easily mappable to any abstract data model for annotations. We need to say something about linking pre-defined annotations (maybe even--dare I mention--RDF encoded ones?) to data and other annotations. I have inserted examples of various things--including parallel data examples grabbed off the XCES web site. Talk to you all shortly. ======================================================= Nancy Ide Professor and Chair Department of Computer Science, Vassar College Poughkeepsie, NY 12604-0520 USA Tel: +1 845 437-5988 Fax: +1 845 437-7498 [log in to unmask] Chercheur Associe Equipe Langue et Dialogue, LORIA/CNRS Campus Scientifique - BP 239 54506 Vandoeuvre-les-Nancy FRANCE Tel: +33 (0)3 83 59 20 47 Fax: +33 (0)3 83 41 30 79 [log in to unmask] =======================================================
