I second the recommendations for School of Seven Bells and The National. Another new-ish band that School of Seven Bells reminds me of is Crystal Castles.

And I can't think of any other current bands with such nice male vocals as The National. Very much like Joy Division with the "heavier" male vocals. [...]

address, I'm a fan. I discovered them back in high school, 1989. Their four
studio albums are brilliant, but the real treasures are the hard to find

There's a song on there titled as such. Has a female singer that says "fun fun fun" a lot. One of the lines is something like "call you everyday on the telephone, break your neck if you're not home."

so, last night at the gym, got a txt from a buddy and fellow Sioux fan, telling me that Budgie would be performing with efterklang at the apple store in soho. immediately going to to the 'net on my phone, i discovered the show was at 7pm. it was 6:45 and i was sweating my jujus off, mid-workout. bummer. then, another buddy txtd to say that there's some rumor going 'round about a banshees reunion. ....any truth? anyone heard this? i used to go to the same gym as knox chandler. it's times like THIS i wish i still did!
