Community Pediatric Emergency Departments
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in the Department of
Pediatrics, Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and Case Western
Reserve University School of Medicine is seeking a Medical Director to
lead Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital's Community Pediatric
Emergency Departments.
Our first community PED is scheduled to open at the end of 2010 in a
brand new, state of the art community hospital. PEDs in 2 more sites
will follow in 2011. The Medical Director of Community PEDs would have
the opportunity to plan, implement and oversee Pediatric Emergency
operations at these sites in conjunction with the PEM Division at
Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, a nationally recognized, top
ranking academic children's hospital. Rainbow Babies and Children's
Hospital is a tertiary care children's hospital with the only Level I
Pediatric Trauma Center in the region, a 24-bed PICU and a complete
faculty of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists.
The ideal candidate will be PEM board certified with strong clinical
skills and administrative experience and achievement in PED operations.
Faculty appointment and salary is commensurate with experience and
achievement. Employment is through the University Hospital Medical
Group, a unified Practice plan offering an excellent benefits package.
