Kjell,
Isn't English "engine" (of an automobile) "motor" in Interlingua?

engine n [ME engin, fr. MF, fr. L ingenium natural disposition,
talent, fr. in- + gignere to beget & more at KIN]

I suppose a complex motor constructed by an engineer (one who deals with
ingenious constructions, or runs ingenious engines) was seen to be ingenious,
and so called an "engine", the product of ingenluity.
