what if the chef were a portable application you could run locally
and trivially? just part of a makefile?

modified teilite seems to me the height of madness. its a
demonstration of how to make a TEI modified
subset in itself, subsetting or modifying is weird, no?
well, "height of madness" maybe an overstatement. yes i can think of
more mad things...
