I have suggestions/answers for each of these questions:
1. The last time I checked, the recommended management for suspected iron deficiency (and iron deficiency vs Thal minor) is a trial of oral ferrous sulfate. If the child does not respond with a reticulocytosis and increased Hgb in 10-14 days, further studies such as electrophoresis should be considered. This is assuming the initial suspect diagnosis is appropriate (microcytic anemia with increased RDW, etc)
2. The source for WHO-ORS (oral rehydration solution) is Jianas Brothers, 2533 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108 (816-421-2883). It costs $.55 a packet and comes in cartons of 125 packets. It's great stuff and good for ersatz world class athletes and bikers like me.
3. Pinworm treatment is vermox 100 mg po with repeat in 2 weeks. Treat all close contacts (or at least other children in the same bed) and wash the underwear and bed linens through the hot cycle of the dryer. I think your pt may have recurrences if he is not retreated 10-14 days after the initial dose. See the Red Book for treatment under 2 years, etc.
Hope this helps.
