As an amateur genealogist, the many 50-150 page biographies (plus
chapters & footnotes) in my possession looked like good candidates for
TEI encoding, specifically TEILITE. However, my teilite.dtd (from the
U. of Virginia) is version 3.6.1 (09/09/1994) - rather ancient in a
universe of developing standards. And as I cruised the web looking for
newer versions, I began to acquire the vague feeling that teilite was
deprecated, shunted to a sidetrack, or whatever.
A couple of quick questions:
(1) is teilite alive and well, and where would one find the latest dtd?
(2) is teilite an appropriate choice for the biographies I mentioned above?
