No, you do not have to supress the element. However, it still isn't
easy. Say we want to move the <duck> element from m.foo to m.bar.
Adding it to m.bar is easy. Just add
<!ENTITY % x.bar " duck |" >
to your TEI.extensions.ent file. But removing it from m.foo, that's
another story. For an example of doing this with extensive comment-
ary, see  and search for "remove". It is a real case of moving
<fw> from m.phrase to m.refsys.
