examining the TEI Lite Manual in order to prepare my Text Encoding
courses, I noticed some possible inconsistencies in the section devoted
to the explanation of different language encoding.
Here the list of the points I've identified:
- The <language> element is missing from the Appendix A.2 (Elements in
TEI Lite), but it is present, obviously, in the TEI Lite DTD.
- In the chap. 20 (The Electronic Title Page) there are no examples of
the usage of the <langUsage> element, so it is not possible to
understand that inside <langUsage> the <language> element can be used.
- In the chapter 6, explaining the <foreign> element, the global
attribute lang is introduced, but there is no mention about the fact it
is an IDREF attribute and no connection is done between the lang
attribute and the langUsage/language elements.
