Well, you certainly pointed a finger in the right direction.
Testing the Roma page (not the Pizza Chef, which I haven't used recently)
1) IE6/WinXP gives you blank files
2) Opera 7 puts the string "starting value" in the upload RNG schema
textbox when you get to the cgi page. When you then click on "Submit"
(*not* "Choose", which is for the the RNG schema upload), it tries to
*upload* a file and then hangs, whereupon you have to kill poor Opera
without prejudice. On a subsequent try, if you delete the string "starting
value" from the upload textbox, it just refreshes the page but gives you
3) Mozilla Firefox .08 "works", or rather, does what one was expecting.
Because two out of three browsers bombed to badly, I took a look at the
source of the CGI page, which declares itself as XHTML 1.0 Transitional, but
which definitely doesn't validate as such -- it even has an RNG schema (with
XML declaration!) tossed into the soup! :)
Interesting that Mozilla handles bad [x]HTML better than the other two.
