At the request of the members of the Presentation Tools Special
Interest Group I've reserved a room at John's Hopkins for a meeting on
Thursday, October 21st -- the day before the TEI annual members meeting
Our plan is to hold the meeting from Noon - 5 PM and then hopefully
continue with more informal "discussions" over dinner. The meeting will
be held in the Mattin Center Room 161. It is building 31 on this map
The three hotels reserved for the TEI are on University Parkway and St.
The tentative agenda is to present on two of the SIG's activities - a
tool list and a sample collection of TEI texts for tool testing. Then
we will have presentations and discussions on some TEI tools by their
developers (hopefully xPhilologic, TEI Publisher, xMod, LEADERS, and
Anastasia). These discussions will be partly an introduction to these
tools for those looking for tools for their projects, and a more
technical discussion for those developing their own tools. Hopefully
some good collaborations will arise from the meeting.
The room accommodates 20 people. I am trying to see if we will have an
internet connection. I will be brining a portable projector as it costs
$175 to rent one from the university. I am also looking in to the
possibility of having Tea and Coffee provided.
If you are interested in attending, please let me know via email. If
you are developing TEI tools and would like to present also let me
For those who cannot attend we will be having the regular SIG meeting
on Saturday, Oct 23rd at the TEI members meeting and will be taking
notes and posting them on the SIG web space. If you will be arriving
late on the 21st but wish to meet up with us for dinner, let me know at
which hotel you are staying and I will leave word at the desk.
Look forward to seeing as many of you as I can.
