again a question concerning the practice of encoding descriptions of (medieval)
How do you cope with the difference of a rubricated text not being a
rubric/title and vice versa, a special portion of text signalling a text
division not being set off from the text? Do you feel the need to distinguish
meaning and appearence in these cases?
Or more general: how do you use the element <rubric> (think it should be used)?
How about a definition of rubric that takes both perspectives into account:
rend (normal|rubricated|displayscript) #REQUIRED
function (normal|rubric) #REQUIRED
type CDATA #IMPLIED
TEIform CDATA 'rubric' >
Yes, I know that rend belongs to a.global but I didn't want to write all the
rest down again so I picked only rend for my example.
PS: Working extensively on the meaning of certain elements in order to prepare a
crosswalk towards the German national database for mansucript descriptions I
might come up with some more questions. ;-)
