its odd. obviously, I have done this many times, and don't recall
the issue. Different XSL processors may generate different
resuls for the entity resolver, of coutse

thats the TEI for you :-} your value of "type" for <list> is a local
convention for you, the stylesheets can't guess at all the possibilities

no. TeX is reading the fo file directly

why not use the TEI XML to LaTeX stylesheets (part of the bundle),
and avoid the whole FO thang?
