Syd's explanation looks correct (I haven't tested it); in general, you
should never need to modify the generated schema files.
Playing with the content model of elements is usually OK if the content
TEI classes. If it involves specific named elements with a complex
structure of *, + and |, you
had better be pretty sure you understand the RELAXNG language.
