The Division of Emergency Medicine of the A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children is seeking to expand its urgent care coverage. We currently have an opening for a 0.6 full time equivalent position which includes benefits. Applicants should be board certified or eligible in General Pediatrics. The urgent care center has a census of over 10,000 patients each year and is open from 10 am to midnight on weekdays and 1 pm to midnight on weekends. Physicians work with a full-time nurse and emergency technician to care for children age 0 to 18 with selected medical complaints or injuries consistent with those cared for in most primary care offices. A new urgent care center is currently under construction adjacent to the main Emergency Department with 6 examination rooms. Urgent care physicians have access to all hospital laboratory and medical imaging facilities, as well as subspecialty consultants.
The A.I DuPont Hospital for Children is located in Wilmington, Delaware. It is 30 minutes from Philadelphia, PA. Wilmington is an easy drive from New York City, The New Jersey and Delaware shoreline, Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.
