First, the original paragraph which I'm transcribing:
Between the two gesperrt printed words 'Tamanacu' and 'Basque',
you have a loose list of words, separated by commata and semicola.
Each virtual row has the fields 1. German language word, 2. Tamanacu
translation, and 3. German langage re-translation. The row containing
'puirene-veju' is missing its 1st field, so there is NO space
that I could mark up as such, except if there is something like
space with length 0 cm. And if I'd had in the meantime no success,
I'd have tried Peter Boot's idea <sic>.
But fortunately, Google Books saved me by giving a snippet of a 1945
book about Venezuelan ethnology which had the word's spanish translation
as _noon_ (of course). So, I'll go with
<supplied reason='omitted in the original'>Mittag,</supplied>.
Notably, this is in a German language translation of a French
original which has the omission, too. Perhaps the bad lighting in
Thanks to all for replies,
