After a few years of lurking, I have joined the Bike-to-Brown list.
I'm in the MCB Department with an office and lab in Sidney Frank
Hall. Gary Wessel and Mark Johnson are two floors down from me.
Geoff Williams is in the other wing of of SFH.
I ride in from Barrington two or three times a week, and take
recreational rides on weekends, usually down to and around Bristol or
in the Swansea-Rehoboth-Seekonk region.
From the time I went to college until I was about 33, my bike was my
main transportation, year round (the weather was better then and
there). Indeed, I did not own a car until I married into one.
I have found the information on the B-t-B website quite useful. Or
special use to me was a feature that seems to be disabled in the new
version. That was the detailed diagrams of rides through nearby MA.
I know that I was somewhat intimidated about riding in Rehoboth etc,
fearing narrow roads and truck traffic. The routes set up concrete
plans for initial rides. Now I have all kinds of alternatives and
don't need to look at the original suggestions, but there are others
who are looking for rides off the bike path that can be reached
