There are different ways to skin this cat.
If you don't want the extra distance of using Lloyd Ave and want to
maximize quiet streets and avoid traffic lights, you can stay on Medway
(crossing Butler) to the dead end. Just before the end, you can cut
through the parking lot of the Bethany Home to South Angell. There are
two barriers across the entrances to the lot where you have to dismount.
When you get to South Angell, you're almost opposite the beginning of
the bridge sidewalk.
I tried this riding to work this morning (going the other direction),
and it was fine.

Here's another option to get to the north sidewalk:
Left from Waterman onto Gano.
First right on Medway.
Left on Butler.
Cross Angell at traffic light.
First right (90 degrees right) on Nisbet.
Right at end onto Patterson, and immediate left on sidewalk.
