A quick and intuitive answer:
- if you just want to mark places in the text, I would go for:
- if you want to add your own comment to the bookmark, it could be:
<note type="bookmark">a very important episode in my family life</note>
I would not place these in the header, but inline, and rely on the
stylesheets to compile them wherever you would need this to appear.
