I wanted to add to the growing list of job opportunities and alert folks on the listserve about open PEM faculty positions at the Hospital for Sick Children -
Sick Kids is an academic health science center dedicated exclusively to children and is affiliated with the University of Toronto.
Effective September 1st, 2010 the hospital will have new faculty positions in the Division of Paediatric Emergency Medicine. The Division has a long tradition of excellence in clinical care, education, and research. The Division trains a broad range of health practitioners who care for ill and injured children. PEM physicians with outstanding clinical skills and a commitment to academic success are encouraged to apply. Candidates with interests in resuscitation/critical care and pediatric trauma are of particular value. The Division is committed to a model of integrated academic practice - where the clinical mission of delivering high-quality care concurrently supports educational and clinical research initiatives, including work in quality improvement and knowledge translation.
Successful candidates should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary will commensurate with qualifications. All candidates must be certified or eligible for certification in Paediatric Emergency Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Please note, well-qualified U.S. citizens who are board-eligible/ board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in PEM may be granted an academic license to practice and re-taking of board exams may not be necessary.
