The TEI has just issued a RFP for institutional hosts:
As the RFP indicates, host institutions are major contributors to the
TEI, both through their membership and through their underwriting of
consortium activities. There are currently five institutional hosts:
Brown University, and the Universities of Lethbridge, Nancy, Oxford, and
Virginia. Host terms are usually four years in length and are renewable.
The terms for Brown, Nancy, Oxford, and Virginia expire at the end of
2010; Lethbridge's term expires at the end of 2011.
As part of the Consortium's evolving mandate, the Board would like to
encourage institutions who have the ability to offer strong in-kind
support for TEI activities to consider putting their names forward to
serve as host institutions. To encourage as wide a range of
participation as possible, the Board is in the process of developing
proposals for significant changes to the bylaws, including changing some
aspects of the expected financial contribution and both expanding the
range of possible in-kind services hosts may propose and increasing the
opportunities for all successful host institutions to advise the board
in its deliberations.
If your institution has the capacity to support TEI activities through
membership and in-kind contributions, please consider putting your name
forward as a potential host. The board is very willing to consider new
approaches to host support and will be happy to help develop successful
applications with potential partners.
The deadline for proposals is November 20th, 2010, with the final
decision to be made no later than December 31st, 2010. This deadline has
been set in order to give potential hosts significant opportunity for
informal consultation and discussions with members of the board and the
Thank you very much for your continued support of the TEI!
