Hmmm. @type would be a description of the semantics
of what you have, @rend would describe what it looks like.
The situation where you want the map rendered dynamically
sounds more like a use of the @copyOf/XInclude etc in the
where the URL returns a stream of KML or JSON, and your rendered knows
what to do with it...
do you have an example in mind for this?
