To all: I am putting together the final touches on a lecture I am about to give about malpractice, pre-dispositions, avoidance thereof etc. There was an article some years ago about us, the attendings, and our pre-disposition to malpractice. It was not the intern, it was us not listening to all they reported, being tired, the end of the shift, needing to eat, go to the restroom etc.. The article illuminated the human factors of our lives.
Does anybody remember this or does anybody have a great article on that subject? Input is more than welcome, please direct it directly to me.
Thanks in advance,
Julia Whitefield, MD, Ph.D.
