Emergency Medical Associates (EMA), a physician-owned practice, is seeking full time and/or part-time board certified or board eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physicians for the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center (WMC) in Valhalla, NY.
The Pediatric Emergency Department (PED) is housed in this new state-of-the-art Children's Hospital which provides advanced pediatric care with a strong pediatric residency program and extensive pediatric subspecialty availability. There is both 24/7 in house Pediatric Hospitalist and PICU attending coverage. The Pediatric ED currently evaluates approximately 18,000 patients per year with approx 25% admit rate reflecting our high acuity. There are a total of 126 beds in the children's hospital including 18 PICU beds, 48 NICU beds, and 60 inpatient beds with an additional 9 under construction scheduled to open this Spring.
WMC is a 627-bed tertiary care hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Regional III Neonatal Center and Regional Disaster and Terrorism Preparedness Resource Center.
WMC is one of the Nation's leading medical research and teaching facilities and is on the campus of New York Medical College. Academic appointments are available through New York Medical College in both Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine.
