Pediatric Emergency Medicine Faculty Position
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Davis
School of Medicine, is conducting a faculty search for a pediatric emergency
medicine physician in either a clinician/educator or clinician/researcher
track. Candidates must be fellowship trained in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
with board certification/eligibility and be eligible for licensure in
California. Candidates are expected to enter at the Assistant/Associate
level, commensurate with experience and credentials.
The University of California, Davis, Medical Center, one of the nation’s
“Top 50 Hospitals,” is a 576 bed academic medical center with approximately
65,000 emergency department visits annually, with approximately 25% being
pediatric. In 2010 we moved to a new, state-of-the-art ED, which provides
comprehensive emergency services to a large local urban and referral
population as a pediatric trauma center, level 1 trauma center, paramedic
base station and training center. We have a separate Pediatric Emergency
area in the new facility, where we care for the highest acuity pediatric
patients in the region.
The Department serves as the primary teaching site for fully accredited
Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics residency programs. In addition, we
provide advanced training through five Emergency Medicine fellowships,
including research, ultrasound, toxicology, medical simulation, and
The Department is a national leader in emergency medicine and pediatric
emergency medicine research, especially federally-funded, multicenter
research. We are one of the top federally-funded emergency medicine research
centers in the nation, and we are one of the leading centers in the
Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN). Our department
is also a recent recipient of an NHLBI K12 programmatic award to train the
next generation of Emergency Medicine/Pediatric Emergency Medicine researchers.

Central Valley, with close proximity to Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, and the
