We are in the process of establishing credentialing requirements for the use of propofol in our peds ED. Has anyone addressed this drug specifically in your sedation protocols? How have you balanced out the need to show your hospital that this is being taken seriously while avoiding the creation of a process that is too oppressive for your doctors? What sort of periodic assessment is performed to maintain credentialing for your staff?
I would be very interested in protocols and written credentialing requirements, if any of you could furnish them to me. Thanks for your help.
