We are hoping to institute a nitrous program in our Pediatric ED in the near future. We have written our protocols, the Division of Peds Anesthesiology is on board, and have researched our available equipment and scavenging issues.
We are fairly certain that we will recoup costs with physician billing, as well as the potential for increased satisfaction scores and quicker turn-around times.
Our hospital business people are looking for evidence for a positive Return On Investment on the hospital side (Nursing, equipment, etc.) before committing. Is anyone aware of any data that they're willing to share? Thank you.
Niel F. Miele, M.D.
Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine
