The Department of Pediatrics at Boston Medical Center and the Boston University School of Medicine has initiated a national search for the position of Chief of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The Division Chief will be responsible for the operation of the Pediatric Emergency Department at Boston Medical Center (the major teaching hospital for the medical school), and will be expected to further advance the clinical and research potential of the division. The Division currently offers a variety of clinical and educational programs with emphasis on simulation, education and public health.
The Pediatric Emergency Department at Boston Medical Center provides care to 29,000 patients per year. The Department of Pediatrics is composed of 13 Divisions and over 90 full-time faculty. Boston Medical Center serves a diverse population from the surrounding community with an emphasis on the urban core and has direct links with a network of community health centers. The Division is responsible for the education of Pediatric, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine residents. The Division provides twenty-four hour attending coverage and has an accredited Fellowship program in PEM which has been training fellows since 1988.
Applicants must be Board Certified in PEM and should be at the level of Associate Professor / Professor with leadership experience and a record of research accomplishments in PEM.
