The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center is seeking board certified or eligible pediatric emergency medicine physicians to join our PEM faculty. NYP is a major academic institution, consistently ranked in the U.S.News Best Hospitals top 7. The Weill Cornell campus of NYP is a busy urban academic institution located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. We are a level-one trauma center and regional burn center. We provide emergency services to a large and diverse community with a referral population of highly complex and acute pediatric conditions.
There will also be the opportunity to work at NYP-Downtown, located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and serving the Financial District, Chinatown, Battery Park City, Little Italy and Tribeca. This area is recognized as one of the fastest growing residential communities in New York, and we plan to create a new community-based pediatric emergency medicine service at NYP-D. This position offers the unique opportunity to lead and develop this center, work closely with hospital administration, and to perform outreach and education to the local practitioners and schools.
Our PEM faculty consists of a vibrant and family-oriented group who hold academic appointments in the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell College of Medicine. We provide education for our fully accredited PEM fellowship and Pediatric and Emergency Medicine residency programs, and for Weill Cornell medical school students. Opportunities for career development and scholarly collaboration are abundant, and faculty may pursue their personal interests in areas such as education, simulation, research, community outreach, global health, ED operations, quality improvement and patient safety.
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with training and experience. Manhattan is a cultural mecca, with unparalleled access to theater, arts, sports and education.
