PEM Faculty Position in New York City!
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at NY Presbyterian Hospital and the Weill Cornell Medical College seeks a BC/BE Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician for a full-time academic and/or clinical position to join our young and enthusiastic group of 11 PEM faculty. NYP-Weill Cornell is a busy urban academic institution located in the residential Upper East Side of Manhattan. We care for a rapidly growing, highly complex and acute pediatric population, with an emphasis on a family-centered approach. We are a level-one trauma center and regional burn center, with a 23-bed pediatric critical care unit, and support by all pediatric and surgical subspecialties on site.
There is also the opportunity to work at the newly established community hospital, NYP-Lower Manhattan, serving Tribeca, Battery Park City, Chinatown and Little Italy. This area is recognized as one of the fastest growing and diverse residential communities in New York, and we are in the early phase of developing a separate pediatric ED to care for children at LM. This site will provide tremendous opportunities for faculty development in operations, safety and quality improvement, community education and outreach.
We have an ACGME-accredited PEM fellowship, and are affiliated with both pediatric and emergency medicine residency training programs at NYP-Weill Cornell. Our physicians are encouraged to expand their personal interests in areas such as education, simulation, research, community outreach, global health, ED operations, quality improvement and patient safety. There are opportunities to develop leadership positions at both sites. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package with academic appointment at a level appropriate to training and experience. Potential for bonus salary is available for disproportionate work during off-hours (weekends and overnights).
New York City is one of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities in the United States. Museums, Broadway & Off-Broadway, Lincoln Center, Central Park, Time's Square, Madison Avenue shopping, Greenwich Village, the High Line and Rockefellar Center are all at your doorstep. Most importantly, NYC offers a diverse, pet and child-friendly community with outstanding schools, winning sports teams and amazing restaurants.
