Why make it difficult on yourself? If it is in one <line> and has
no conflicting hierarchies then:
<line>text <seg type="person" xml:id="xyz">Oliver</seg> text</line>
would surely be easier? I'm not necessarily recommending this...
just if you are going to do it you might as well make it easier
on yourself and only use milestones where necessary. ;-)
I don't believe I had any problem <seg> being allowed in
<line>... it is more the things it picks up from model.global
that I remember thinking were inappropriate.
