PEM colleagues, I need your help. I have a terrible time getting to sleep after evening shifts and on days that I don't work. I sleep very well after overnight shifts, but I don't want to make that my permanent shift. I've seen 3 different sleep specialists and I think I've tried every sleep med there is, but have quickly developed tolerance to all of them. I've seen a behavioral sleep medicine specialist and she told me to find a new career. I have blackout shades, my bedroom is cool and quiet, I don't have a TV in the room, no pets, and I only drink caffeine before an overnight shift.
Does anyone have any ideas/tips/experiences that they can share?
