IU Department of Emergency Medicine Seeks Academic Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Director
Exceptional opportunity for highly motivated board-certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join the faculty of the Indiana University as the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Director.
We seek an academic leader at any rank who will develop the pediatric emergency medicine fellowship program at Indiana University. Excellence in all academic missions and a demonstrated commitment to scholarly work are requirements. The successful candidate will be involved in all components of the academic enterprise. Ideally, this person will lead an independent research program. Clinical services and educational oversight occur in the nationally recognized Riley Hospital for Children, where EM residents, pediatrics residents, EM/Peds residents, Med/Peds residents, Peds/Psych/Child Psych residents and medical students learn the practice of pediatric emergency medicine.
Riley is located on the IU Medical Center campus in downtown Indianapolis and has an annual volume of 38,000 patient visits, with an admission rate near 20%. Clinical services are now housed in a state of the art facility in the Simon Family Tower with a new ED that opened in June 2013. Eighteen clinical faculty comprise this vibrant and creative division with expertise in injury prevention, trauma care, child abuse, quality improvement, community outreach, and EMS. Riley is a comprehensive tertiary referral center and designated pediatric Level 1 trauma and burn center.
Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine is required. Rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications of candidate.
